Kingdom Bucket Hat Test Wash
Hats are usually not recommended for machine washing as it tends to warp the shape of the hat. Is a bucket hat machine washable? Since the bucket hat is primarily fabric throughout, I decided to machine test wash and dry to see how it holds up. I measured it before and after.
The results:
- Machine Washed Cold Water with regular detergent + Air Dry: The measurements remained the same, the fabric quality and shape also remained the same.
- Machine Wash + Machine Dryer (tumble dry normal with one dryer sheet, removed promptly) - Machine drying shrunk it about 1/2 inch in width. The fabric and shape was intact albeit with creases.
- Ironing: With the proper tools, the bucket hat can be ironed. Start at a medium setting and use a press cloth if needed to iron out any creases.
