Machine Washing and Drying the Moon Tiara Sweatband

I test washed the Sailor Moon tiara headband to check if it would hold up fine post-wash and dryer. As with all elastic garments, it's better to air dry but I tested to see how it fared after a tumble:

Machine Washing + Machine Drying:

    Machine: Top loading washer.
    Temperature: Cold water.
    Cleanser: Regular Detergent.
    Dryer: Regular dryer with normal settings + dryer sheet.

• Results of machine washing only: I measured the sweatband beforehand and added it to a cold water wash with regular detergent. After the cycle it was clean (albeit wet) and remained intact, and the measurements were the same.
• Results of machine drying: It was fully dried, and being terry cloth, there wasn't a large difference in the fabric. The height measurement of the sweatband remained the same (2inch/5cm tall), and the width shrunk by about 0.5inch/1.3cm. However, the shrinkage is minimal and with regular use, it ought to stretch itself back again. It may feel a bit snug at the initial wear, although a headband should feel a bit snug to stay in place, and it should stretch out to fit its wearer properly. 

Overall the sweatband can be machine washed and dried. It shouldn't shrink any further past about 0.5inch/1.3cm each machine dry cycle. Please remember that subsequent washing and drying would likely cause eventual fuzziness (like most normal clothing). The elasticity may be affected by the heat over time.
