I test washed the Sailor Moon tiara headband to check if it would hold up fine post-wash and dryer. As with all elastic garments, it's better to air dry but I tested to see how it fared after a tumble:
Machine Washing + Machine Drying:
Machine: Top loading washer.
Temperature: Cold water.
Cleanser: Regular Detergent.
Dryer: Regular dryer with normal settings + dryer sheet.
Overall the sweatband can be machine washed and dried. It shouldn't shrink any further past about 0.5inch/1.3cm each machine dry cycle. Please remember that subsequent washing and drying would likely cause eventual fuzziness (like most normal clothing). The elasticity may be affected by the heat over time.
Disclaimer:
Please note that washer and dryer machine brands, spin cycle times, and temperature can differ, results can vary. The safest way to wash your sweatband would be to machine wash or hand wash and air dry. The above was a test wash and test dry and should not be considered a definitive outcome. Please wash and dry with your best judgment.
