Flip flops are universally worn by all, and have lead to all sorts of flattering and fun designs. Unfortunately, some of the nicest looking flip flops are made with a light color: a magnet for dirt and grime. With black and darker colors it's quite invisible, but for shades of white, light blue, pink, etc., each dirt mark is imprinted and schmeared and exposed to the world in the most embarrasing way in the form of your toes and feet.
The Namine flip flops are made from light blue EVA foam, and after a cosplay photoshoot session, it became clear it was not an exception to the dirt magnet rule:
I scoured the net and found the most simple and safe way to clean the EVA foam flip flops.
You will need:
Just like new! Please note that I washed this pair more recently; for older worn flip flops, the dirt may not come off entirely, although it should look a lot cleaner.
If you don't want to use new dish scrubs or don't have an old one on hand, Daiso or thrift stores should have new dish scrubs for a lot cheaper. I have not tested towels or such, but if the surface is abrasive enough, it should help scrub off the dirt.
Disclaimer:
Please note that I test washed the flip flops with the home materials I had on hand. It was also tested on EVA foam flip flops. Results may vary with different soaps, scrubs, and flip flop materials. It's recommended to test a small, inconspicious spot to ensure there will not be any damage before committing to fully cleaning your flip flops.
