Another year of Anime Expo! This year's AX was held July 4th Thurs. - July 7th Sun. There were massive changes this year with Anime Expo: the exhibitor hall was vastly different than previous years, events were further spreaded out, and lines were addressed properly.
The exhibit hall was changed from industry in the front and vendors in the back, to primarily industry in the center and exhibitors moved to the sides and downstairs with Artists Alley. The center had a very different feel and appeared more trade show:
Compared to the vendors section:
Events were spreaded out throughout the convention center and adjacent buildings, and even the streets were closed off for AX Crossing (an area for performances and street vendors inspired by Japan's Shibuya Crossing). The expansions allowed for much more space for the attendees, and all weekend long folks were grateful for the walking space and elbow room. It was hot as usual for July summer heat, and temperatures were around the high 80's for Downtown Los Angeles.
Lines were handled well this year with multiple entrances, and fans complimented how quickly they were able to go through the lines and how organized it was this year.
