New to the shop are Cloud swim shorts, Tifa's swimsuit, and Aerith's swimsuit, worn during their excursion in Costa del Sol.
Cloud's swim shorts in the game are highly detailed. They look fantastic in-game and would be great for cosplay, but it's not as feasible for real life swimwear. A lot of details were toned down, as most swimmers would probably not want extra straps and buckles to interfere while treading water. However, as the sewn details are mostly spot-on, cosplayers can take the time to add in all the small missing elements for an accurate cosplay (and even use water friendly materials to keep it swimwear ready).
I was a little worried about Tifa's swimsuit since I wanted to keep it as accurate as possible, but also as comfortable and secure in real life. Most swimsuits tie or snap or hook securely in the back, I was apprehensive about a corset style that loops into the front. I tested other closures but none came close to the actual look. I decided to go for it with the prototype, and it was a success! I opted to make it a three piece set for the most accurate look.
Aerith's top has a sash around her neck and ties at the back. I tested a pattern and it did work, but with the nature of swimsuits, I wanted something that would feel more secure than a simple band around the neck. I changed it to tying at the neck instead, which also allows for more adjustability. The original design has metal pieces at the straps and a metal chain around the skirt, both were omitted as metal does not do well in water. Cosplayers would be able to easily add both for an Aerith cosplay.
