I came across a blog that had a recipe for Japanese cream soda, and wondered if I could do the same with other flavors. At my local Marukai Japanese market I found different syrup flavors: melon, Ramune, strawberry, and grape. I opted for the Ramune flavor.
When I made it, I really liked the blue color and it reminded me of the sea salt ice cream in Kingdom Hearts and wondered if I could do another theme. To be honest however, this recipe is really more of a Ramune ice cream soda with a sprinkle of salt on top, calling it "Kingdom Hearts" inspired is undoubtedly a stretch, but it does looks pretty and it does taste good, and the melting ice cream trails made me think of spooky fog. :D Excuses, but it really is tasty! Try it with the different flavors if you can! :)
