Japanese Style Meatloaf

This recipe isn't based on a video game one. From time to time I'll probably post non-game ones but I'll do my best to post mostly those we see in games. I was trying something new and it turned out not too bad, and it's still easy for busy gamers to make. :)

You can use Hondashi, a Japanese fish stock, or for a less fishy flavor, chicken bouillon would work too.

Japanese Style Meatloaf

Serves 4 - 6. Ingredients:

Saute Mixture:
    4 garlic cloves, minced
    2 carrots, finely diced
1 green bell pepper, finely diced
    1/2 small onion, finely diced
    1 pound ground turkey
    4 tablespoons soy sauce
    1 tablespoon sake
    1 tablespoon mirin
    1/2 teaspoon pepper
    1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon white sugar
1 teaspoon fish bouillon powder (Hondashi) or chicken bouillon
    1 teaspoon garlic powder
    1 teaspoon sesame oil
    1 cup panko bread crumbs
    1 egg

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Heat a large pan over medium heat, then heat 1 tablespoon oil. Add garlic and saute until fragrant, about 15 seconds. Add carrots, bell pepper, and onion, cook until softened. Set aside to cool.
  3. In a large bowl, mix saute mixture with the rest of the meatloaf ingredients. Pour into a baking sheet and shape into meatloaf shape.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour.
