Eternal Sonata Snowpuff Cookie

Eternal Sonata has a healing item called a "Snowpuff Cookie", and I always imagined it as a soft and puffy confection. It'd be very light and airy with a touch of sweetness from the sugar snow on top.

This cookie recipe yields more of small cake bites than traditional dense chewy cookies. It will hold its shape and its texture is like a soft airy cake (I cut one in half with a fork to show the inside). It uses pre-made box cake mix so it's very easy to make, and versatile! I used Funfetti cake mix, try other different flavors!

Snowpuff Cookies

Yield 30 small cookies. Ingredients:

1 box cake mix (Funfetti, white, yellow, etc)
1 (8 oz) package light cream cheese, room temperature
4 tablespoons butter (1/2 stick), softened
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg

  1. Allow cream cheese and butter to come to room temperature.
  2. In a large bowl, mix cream cheese and butter together. Add vanilla extract and egg and mix. Add cake mix to the bowl and beat until well combined. Cover and refrigerate for at least one hour to overnight.
  3. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Roll dough into 1 inch balls and place 2 inches apart on an un-greased sheet.
  4. Bake for 12 - 13 minutes. Let it cool on the sheet for 2 minutes before transferring to a plate to cool.
