This simple and easy-to-follow tutorial will show you how to attach a decorative or ornament buckle to a regular belt. It will work for:
The first tutorial is the standard way to put it on. If the buckle hinge is larger than the belt buckle, scroll down for the shortcut version.
Featured ornament buckle: Squall Leonhart Lion Head Buckle
Standard way:
The belt buckle is larger than the lion head's hinge and would need the standard way of putting it on.
Step 1. Pull belt through the hinge.
Step 2. Pull the belt all the way through.
Step 3. Put your belt on as you normally would. The buckle wouldn't get in the way much but take care not to scratch it.
Step 4. Fasten your belt as tight as you normally wear it. Any excess belt strap should be pulled through the ornament buckle's hinge.
Step 5. Slide the buckle over to the center. The hinge should go over the belt layers. Insert the prong of the buckle into a belt hole.
Step 6. Adjust the buckle as needed to secure it in place. The buckle should not shift or move around too much.
Shortcut Version:
This is a faster way to put on the belt buckle. Check if the ornament buckle's hinge will fit over the belt's buckle. If it fits over, this quick version of putting on the belt buckle will work.
Step 1. Put on belt as normal. First put on your belt as you normally would without adding the ornament buckle.
Step 2. Carefully slide the buckle onto the belt. If you tested beforehand, it should fit over the belt's buckle.
Step 3. Fasten your belt as normal. Any excess belt strap should be pulled through the ornament buckle's hinge.
Step 4. Slide the buckle over to the center. The hinge should go over the belt layers. Insert the prong of the buckle into a belt hole.
Step 5. Adjust as needed to secure the ornament buckle in place.
